Brief History

St. Peter’s Church in the Central Greenough Historic Settlement was first built in 1860s which has served as both a church and a school. The wheat farmers first settled in the region was in Greenough in 1858. Due to the hardships they faced like rust and floods, lead the town’s eventual abandonment.
  • St. Peter’s Church was badly damaged by the 1888 flood and was replaced in 1909 by a more substantial building erected next to the Greenough Convent, also called St Peter’s.
