GodStart is a post-baptism support program designed to help parents with the early development of their child’s faith.

Baptism is an important event in an infant’s life, signifying the commitment of parents to raise their child within the Church community. Through Baptism not only are we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God – we also become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission. Baptism should mark the beginning of an ongoing relationship between a parish and families.

The GodStart program helps us to keep in touch with families in the early years before their children enter school. The program enables us to take an active role in helping parents teach their child about the love of
God. It also strengthens the ties with families, assisting in the growth and development.

A series of beautifully illustrated cards and an interactive prayer book are being used to present to each baptised child on their first four birthdays.
