Christmas Message from Fr Gerard Totanes
Christmas reminds us that Jesus Christ was born for us.
These are trying times we’re living in and we can feel easily overwhelmed by the challenges we face and lose hope. But the birth of Jesus reminds us that even in the darkest of times, his light is there to guide us on our journey through life. God is always with us, even in our struggles.
As we celebrate Christmas this year, let us remember those who are doing it tough in our community, those who live on the margins, and the many who have been affected by wars, economic losses and natural disasters worldwide. We offer them our love and support as well as pray for their strength and resilience. Love, compassion and understanding always get us through the rocky roads of life.
But let us not forget that Christmas is God’s gift to us, joy is God’s gift to us – the joy of knowing Jesus, his Son, and the joy that comes when we live together in solidarity and friendship, sharing our love and kindness with one another, spreading hope and joy wherever we go, and being light for others who are in darkness.
Blessings to one and all this Christmas and the New Year!
