The parish is very fortunate to be supported by our Catholic schools, which see young people of both primary and high school ages interact with our faith community, be it through sacraments and liturgies, Christian Service Learning Programs, or retreats.  However, this is an area of parish life we want to help grow! Pope Francis, in his address at World Youth Day in Poland in 2016, encouraged young people. He said:

“Today’s world demands that you be a protagonist of history because life is always beautiful when we choose to live it fully and when we choose to leave a mark”

In this spirit, we invite young people to leave their mark on us!

In the past, we have rallied young people in the parish to travel to events such as the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, and we have plans to partner with groups such as the Disciples of Jesus and YMT to encourage a youth group movement. Our hope is to send pilgrims to World Youth Day in Portugal in 2024, which is a unique time in a Christian’s life to share in the faith, surrounded by like-minded people, in the company of the Pope.
